Balloons Over Vermilion would like to thank the over 600 sponsors and volunteers who made the 2019 festival a record-breaking success.
The organizers of the Balloons Over Vermilion 2019 celebration, which took place at Danville Regional Airport this weekend, took time to honor the contributions of one of the events main benefactors during Friday night’s opening ceremonies.

Three local airplane pilots are joining in the flyover at tonight’s kick-off of the Balloons Over Vermilion hot-air balloon festival in order to help Danville-area pilot Jay Schroeder honor the event’s biggest benefactor, Julius W. Hegeler II, who passes away one week ago.
It’s looking like some great weather for Balloons Over Vermilion this weekend and co-chair Jim Anderson said attendees may want to bring an umbrella, not for rain, but to shield the sun.

Balloons Over Vermilion is coming Friday and Saturday (July 12th and 13th, 2019) at the Vermilion Regional Airport. But before the balloons fly there, some of the pilots will be participating in the Danville Boat Club’s Splash ‘n Dash event on Thursday evening.
